Why Marketing Gets Ignored

After speaking with many marketing people it has become increasingly apparent that some of the basic goals they wish to achieve are difficult to achieve.

Why is this?

Here are some reasons (and in no particular order):

1. Far too busy with meetings to find the time

2. Think about 'internal issues' first and then lose sight of what customers want

3. Trying to please all the people all the time (normally the bosses)

4. Continue with campaigns purely because 'it has always been done that way'

The net result of all these smokescreens is that brands end up with generic outcomes.
